The Flexible Mindset
This philosophy paper is about the concept of "flexible mindset" which is my addition to the already established idea of "growth mindset" and "fixed mindset". With this paper I try to fill the gap I see in the already existing framework.

My philosophy around independent study
I study independently, meaning I’m not affiliated with a university. I’m an independent scholar, researcher and philosopher, although I study for a religious degree via distance learning from a metaphysics university right now. All other studies are independent studies and online courses I take to build up my career as a philosophical writer and researcher.
I think formal education is mostly bureaucratic in nature and not necessary when it comes to scholarly work. It’s helpful, but not mandatory. Actually, I would argue that scholars and research need independent and self-made thinkers that aren’t affiliated with a university or organisation just as much as we need people who are just that! We need both to thrive in this world.
The world of academia also tends to have an ableism problem, so it’s certainly not accessible to everyone, especially not people with trauma and/or disabilities. I believe scholarly work is for anyone who want s to contribute. Ideas are, and will always be, free.
My fields
I specialize in metaphysics, philosophy of mind, occultism and spiritual thinking. My secondary areas are feminist studies, mythology, gender studies and classical studies. I also study within certain religious disciplines such as christopaganism and trinitarian wicca, queer theology and queer magic.
As you can see, my fields of research and study are closely tied to my worldbuilding and more fictional stories, although I would argue, all stories, even fictional ones, have some kind of reality. For example, I’ve written my first philosophy manifesto around imagination and happiness from a philosophical standpoint.
