Finding Internal Happiness

Welcome to learn about what you can do to balance your inner and outer happiness. This is a philosophical book that is not like something else you will stumble upon.

Many “self-help books” talk about goal-setting and making habits with the target of wanting something outside of oneself. Often external validation or a career we want or something like that. This book is not that, this book explores our inner worlds and how we can feel more content with what we already have but still search for a fulfilling life and make our internal and external goals go hand-in-hand.

This is not a book about external and material goals like guiding you for societal success though. It will teach you how to find your inner happiness instead. It has a spiritual approach as well as a psychological approach, but there’s no specific religion attached to this book. It just explores these internal journeys in a way that I feel is worth discussing, as a generally spiritual person and a person who has studied evidence-based psychology as well.

This is, however, a highly philosophical read and it also contains my own philosophical thoughts I have developed over the years. So be prepared to read about things you have not heard of before.

Stories of a Caged Girl

She was different, and not in the way anyone in the little village could understand. She was the sunshine everyone tried to cover up, the gemstone who was too rough to be loved. The girl nobody wanted near. Except him. The first person to take her in, the first person to abuse and use her, and one of the hundred people guilty of making her condition worse.

This is the story of one autistic child who became an autistic teenager, and then finally an autistic adult. It’s a dark story as well as a story of hope. A story of anger and grief as well as love and compassion. This is her story and she won’t let anyone tell her she can’t express herself anymore. This is the story of one forgotten child who refuses to be silenced anymore.

Her Inner Universe

This is a poetry collection by Trix Joyce. The poems can be interpreted as horror-themed, but they all have a basis in reality. With a beautifully brutal style of writing, but also strongly narrative-driven poems that are like stories, this book is for every poetry lover. But maybe especially those who are healing from trauma, and need to hear that they aren't alone in their journeys.

Trix Joyce (she/they) is queer author, independent philosopher, and multi-creative artist. She's based in Gothenburg, Sweden, with her partner. They writes about queer stories, and fantasy, but also nonfiction in the genres of contemporary philosophy, poetry and memoirs.
